After nearly three years of planning, permits, and construction, a much-anticipated St. Charles commercial development is mere weeks away from opening to the public.

During last week's Tri-Cities Live panel, developer Pat Greco shared a detailed opening timeline for Fox Haven Square — including which restaurants are coming first, which big names are still on the way, and what's planned for the public space beyond just dining and shopping.

👓 A breakthrough for kids with vision problems

If your child is nearsighted (i.e. starting to squint at the TV, the whiteboard, or road signs), there's finally a new option worth exploring.

Fox Valley Ophthalmology is proud to offer Essilor Stellest lenses, the first eyeglass lens in the U.S. clinically proven to slow the progression of myopia in children. Recently authorized by the FDA, this can be a lifesaver for parents who have been stuck choosing between contacts or eye drops.

Stellest lenses look like regular glasses, but they can reduce myopia progression by up to 71% over two years compared to standard lenses. Easy to wear, safe for everyday use, and fitted by the #1 eye care experts in the Tri-Cities.

☕ Where quick catch-ups turn into a two-hour hangs

If you've been meaning to get together with a friend or reconnect a colleague, Maple Leaf Coffee House along the Fox River in downtown St. Charles is built for this exact type of thing.

Sink into a comfy chair by the windows, pull up a table in the main café, or head out to the riverfront patio once the weather warms. Order a couple of lattes, split something off the scratch-made breakfast or lunch menu, and work your way through a few of the house-baked pastries while you're at it.

Trust me — I’ve been camping out in the cafe on a weekly basis, and it’s tough to beat the vibe.
