On Friday morning, fire and police officials in Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles presided over ceremonies commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
The events gave members of the community an opportunity to come together, reflect, and honor those who were lost on that day.
Here's what to know:
Geneva tribute: Geneva Fire Chief Matt Lohse and Police Chief Eric Passarelli shared remarks during the city's 9/11 ceremony Friday morning at City Hall. Watch the full six-minute video.
St. Charles ceremony: The St. Charles Fire Department held its annual 9/11 remembrance at the Fire Department Memorial Monument, marking 25 years since the attacks with an outdoor gathering open to the community. Watch the full 18-minute video.
Batavia remembrance: Batavia Professional Firefighters Local 3436 honored the 343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics killed on 9/11 with a display of flags at Station 1 on Wilson Street. The firefighters are also selling 25th-anniversary T-shirts, with proceeds going to the Tunnel to Towers charity for first responders. You can buy one here.
