The City of St. Charles is reactivating its Senior Services Commission, an action-driven advisory body focused on advancing citywide support and advocacy for residents ages 60 and older.
According to a news release, the reactivated Senior Services Commission will include nine members, appointed by Mayor Hull, who will advise City Council members on issues impacting older adults.
The Commission also will collaborate with City leadership, senior service providers and community stakeholders to raise awareness of existing senior services and explore practical solutions related to transportation, housing, health and well-being, social engagement and overall quality of life for St. Charles’ senior residents.
“Our community is strongest when every resident is valued and supported,” Mayor Hull said in the news release. “The Senior Services Commission will play a key role in developing a clear, coordinated approach to senior services in St. Charles, while ensuring the voices and experiences of older adults help inform and guide the City's work.”
The City Council approved the Senior Services Commission ordinance on Dec. 15, 2025. The commission was previously placed on inactive status in 2007, when its activities were formally suspended.
