Random Acts Matter is bringing its annual Kindness Week back to the Tri-Cities this February, inviting neighbors to spend seven days turning small, everyday gestures into something that adds up across the community.
The St. Charles-based non-profit organization, which aims to foster a community of care and compassion by inspiring and connecting people, organizes the event every year.
Here’s what you should know:
Week-long celebration: Random Acts of Kindness Week runs February 16–22 and marks the volunteer group’s ninth year hosting the local effort.
Easy ways to help: Ideas range from holding doors and buying coffee for strangers to baking for first responders, donating food to the Veterans Center, or serving breakfast at Lazarus House.
Community-wide effort: Orange signs, banners, and messages of kindness will pop up around town to encourage people to join in.
Share the ripple: Participants are invited to post their acts on social media and tag Random Acts Matter to inspire others.
Volunteer sign-ups are open now, and many activities only take an hour or two — making this an easy way to fit a little kindness into a busy week.
Visit their website to learn more, view the activity schedule, and sign up to participate.
