Tri-Cities residents with a craving for croissants, bread, and pastries made with authentic French ingredients and techniques are in luck.
Founded by trained bakers from Paris, Marius French Bakery opened Aug. 14 at 2115 W. Main St. in St. Charles, and it’s already adding to its menu.
Here's what to know:
From Paris to St. Charles: According to the bakery's social media posts, Marius was founded by three bakers trained in French baking scools. The team built the bakery around those traditional techniques.
What to expect: The bakery specializes in sourdough breads, French pastries, and croissants. Since opening, the menu has grown to include new flavors and styles, with more in the works.
The made-from-scratch process: According to the bakery’s social media posts, the team works through the night mixing, fermenting, and baking everything on-site using French flour and butter. Everything is made fresh.
The bakery said it regularly sold out by mid-morning during its first several days, which required some process and staffing adjustments.
Current hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 6AM to 2PM, closed Mondays.
