The Sixty Fore Golf Club is hoping to open an indoor golf simulator lounge in a vacant retail space at 1519 E. Main Street in St. Charles.
The St. Charles Plan Commission will consider the special use application during a public hearing on Sept. 22. If the project gets recommended, it will then move to the city’s Committee of the Whole and ultimately go before City Council for a final vote.
Here's what to know:
The proposed business: The application describes an indoor golf lounge with two to three golf simulator bays, plus a reservable remote workspace for guests. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks would be available for purchase.
The approval process: The property is zoned for manufacturing use, so a business like this needs what's called a "special use" approval for what’s classified in this case as "indoor recreation & amusement.” The retail center also includes a dance studio and an escape room.
Hours and pricing: The application lists planned hours of 5AM to 11PM daily, with the possibility of expanding to 24/7. The applicant indicated there will be three membership tiers plus public access paid for by the hour.
Nothing is finalized; it’s still early in the process. The Sixty Fore Golf Club, however, does already have an Instagram account.
