Geneva’s City Council just gave the green light to a multi-year plan aimed at addressing the city’s aging buildings, including its more-than-100-year-old City Hall.

The facilities master plan isn’t a binding commitment, but rather a roadmap for how and when to tackle needed upgrades, from fire stations to public works buildings.

Here’s what to know:

  • The adopted plan lays out potential improvements to key city buildings, including City Hall, the police station, fire stations, and public works.

  • Estimated costs range from about $130M to $140M, with recommendations to complete the work in phases.

  • A possible timeline for the full rollout could stretch five to ten years, depending on priorities and funding.
