Election Day is officially behind us. See the latest results for statewide primary elections in Illinois.
Below are the unofficial results from Tuesday's March 2026 primary election in Kane County, with all 292 precincts reporting.
Here's what to know for races affecting the Tri-Cities:
8th Congressional District — Republican: Jennifer Davis won the GOP nomination with 59% of the vote, well ahead of Mark Rice at 32%. Davis will face the Democratic nominee in November.
8th Congressional District — Democratic: Melissa Bean led a crowded eight-person field with 33%, followed by Junaid Ahmed at 26% and Dan Tully at 16%.
33rd State Senate District — Republican: Danielle Penman won the GOP nomination over Jessica Breugelmans, 59% to 41%.
Kane County Clerk — Democratic: Brenda Rodgers defeated Brian Pollock 55% to 45%. Incumbent Jack Cunningham ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.
Kane County Sheriff — Republican: Rob Russell won the GOP nomination over Luis "Lou" Santoyo, 67% to 33%.
Kane County Sheriff — Democratic: Amy Johnson defeated Salvador Rodriguez 55% to 45%.
Kane County Treasurer — Democratic: Penny Wegman won in a landslide, taking 66% of the vote over Scott Johansen (18%) and Connie Cain (16%). Incumbent Chris Lauzen ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.
Kane County Board District 2 — Democratic (unexpired 2-year term): Ellen Nottke led with 40%, followed by Martha Davidson at 36% and Matthew Dingeldein at 24%.
Kane County Board District 9 — Republican: Jennifer Abbatacola defeated Jeffrey Magnussen 53% to 47%.
Kane County Board District 11 — Democratic: Julie Forbes defeated Leslie Juby 63% to 37%.
Kane County Board District 13 — Republican: Ryan Deniz defeated Anthony Catella 69% to 31%.
Kane County Board District 13 — Democratic: Nico Jimenez defeated Michael Linder 61% to 39%.
Kane County Board District 17 — Democratic: Deborah Allan defeated Deborah Willis 59% to 41%.
City of Geneva — $59.4M police station bond referendum: Voters rejected the measure, with 66% voting No and 34% voting Yes. Read more about the referendum in this Aurora Beacon-News article.
