Kane County announced that the recycling center at 517 E. Fabyan Parkway in Geneva will temporarily close starting Monday, Oct. 19, for paving and other site improvements.

Here’s what to know:

  • Expected duration: According to the news release, the center is expected to remain closed for about one month and reopen in November.

  • Alternative spots: You can use this resource to find alternative recycling locations in the Tri-Cities area that will be available during the temporary closure.

  • Even more spots: The county website shows that “pop-up recycling opportunities” may become available during the closure (to be announced later).

Work being done at the site includes surface removal, regrading, new surface pouring, surface curing, and other minor improvements.
