The Tri Cities Exchange Club recently honored ten high school graduating seniors at their ACE Awards breakfast banquet. They selected two winners from each of the five local high schools — St. Charles East and North, Geneva, Batavia and Mooseheart.

The ACE Awards Program (ACE is an acronym for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) is a signature event held annually by each Exchange Club.

To accomplish this, the counselor staff from each high school is asked to nominate two students who have made significant progress in overcoming challenges that are often overlooked — and in so doing, have overcome medical, social, family or other challenges that required strength and perseverance to complete graduation.

The Awards Program was held at Riverside Receptions in Geneva. Over 100 people attended, including school superintendents and administrators, the Tri-Cities mayors, political representatives, local businesspeople, Exchange Club members and guests. Each of the ten honorees received a check for $1K, $100 in cash, a $100 gift certificate from Colonial Café and a commemorative plaque.

The main mission of all 700 Exchange Clubs is to help our youth, abused women, and families with youngsters who have social, economic, and/or physical challenges. The Tri Cities Exchange Club is proud that all ten of the nominees embodied the Exchange Club’s promise to empower and inspire youth achievement.
