St. Charles man pleads guilty to child solicitation charges

A former parent-teacher organization (PTO) president who lived in St. Charles has admitted to multiple charges involving the sexual solicitation of a 13-year-old boy.

Key details:

  • Charges: Edward Izenstark, 37, pleaded guilty to charges including grooming, indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor and solicitation of a sexual act.

  • Sentencing: Izenstark is scheduled for sentencing on January 24 and could face up to five years in prison. He will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

  • The offense: Authorities reported that Izenstark communicated with the boy through social media and messaging apps, requesting explicit photos and arranging to meet in person.

He was arrested after an investigation by Elgin police.
