The St. Charles Park District announced the date of the grand reopening of its splash park at Otter Cove Aquatic Park, set to welcome families and children for the summer. Following extensive renovations, the park district will unveil several new amenities.
Highlights include interactive water features such as sprayers, bubblers, and cascading waterfalls. A state-of-the-art sand and water play unit — equipped with pulleys, levers, and tables — was donated by the St. Charles Park Foundation and supported by the Norris Foundation.
Other upgrades include a new play structure featuring a mini waterslide, a redesigned playground area, expanded shade and seating areas, and resurfaced pods and enhanced landscaping.
The renovation project also includes the replacement of aging amenities and surfaces, alongside the installation of new plumbing, pipes, and filters. These improvements ensure the park meets standards for safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
The grand reopening celebration is scheduled for May 24th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 3615 Campton Hills Road. The highlight of the event will be the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., marking the culmination of months of hard work and community support.
