A solar energy developer is eyeing a 13-acre property along Fabyan Parkway near Kirk Road in Geneva for a new farm of solar panels. The plan commission will get its first look at the proposal at its September 25 meeting.
The plan: OneEnergy Renewables aims to install more than 6,500 solar panels on a property at 1203 E. Fabyan Parkway.
Timeline: If approved, the company would lease the land for 30 years and connect the power to ComEd’s grid.
Background: The site was annexed in 2024 and had prior approval for an industrial project, but that permission expires in February.
According to the proposal, the developer would like to plant native landscaping between rows of panels along with a screening barrier of evergreen trees along the southern property line.
