If you’re considering throwing your hat in the ring for St. Charles City Council, now’s the time to start getting organized.

The city announced that nomination packets for the 2027 election will become available starting August 21, available at the reception desk in the St. Charles Municipal Building from 8AM to 4:30PM every weekday.

The 2027 Consolidated Election will be held on April 6, 2027. The completed nomination packets must be filed between November 16 and November 23, 2026.

The following four-year offices are up for election:

  • Alderman Ward 1 (currently Mark Foulkes)

  • Alderman Ward 2 (currently Jayme Muenz)

  • Alderman Ward 3 (currently appointed David Petschke)

  • Alderman Ward 4 (currently David Pietryla)

  • Alderman Ward 5 (currently Ed Bessner)

  • City Clerk (currently Jessica Bridges appointed – unexpired 2-year term)

To request a packet via email, send a message to [email protected] and it will be sent by the next business day. Petitions cannot be circulated for signature before August 25, 2026.

The Kane County Clerk’s Office can assist with questions about precincts or general election questions at 630.232.5990 or on the Kane County Clerk website. The DuPage County Elections Division can be reached at 630.407.5600 or on the DuPage County Election Division website.

Election forms are also available on the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
