The Tri-City Corps of the Salvation Army is collecting new and gently used children's bicycles and bike locks as part of its 75th anniversary, with a goal of getting at least 75 kids on wheels this summer.
Each donated bike will come with a personalized helmet from The Bike Rack in St. Charles.
Here's what to know:
Drop-off dates: Friday, May 1 from 1-4PM and Saturday, May 2 from 10AM-2PM at The Salvation Army, 1710 South 7th Avenue in St. Charles (not the thrift store location).
What to donate: New and gently used children's bicycles and bike locks.
Bonus for kids: Every child who receives a bike will also get a free bicycle safety course.
The Bike Rack, located at 2930 Campton Hills Road, is partnering on the helmet side of the effort.
