TriCity Family Services will host Room for Growth: A Lunch and Learn Event for Mental Health Awareness Month on Friday, May 17 at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva.
Each year, across the country, the month of May is dedicated to bringing awareness to the importance of mental health; this year, the longstanding Kane County mental health center wants community members to celebrate by attending an educational and inspiring daytime event.
Room for Growth will feature speaker Amy Morin, LCSW, who is a psychotherapist turned internationally known author of “13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do.”
During the luncheon event at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva, Amy will offer the audience strategies for tapping into mental strength during challenging times. Physical copies of Amy’s best-selling book will be available for purchase and signing following the event.
“Our goal with Room for Growth is to provide a day of rest, reflection and connection to our partners, supporters and other champions of emotional wellness in the community,” says TriCity Family Services Director of Development, Sarah Russe. “We hope to establish this as a yearly event that highlights the dedication that the Tri-Cities area has in providing quality, accessible mental health care to all neighbors in need.”
Room for Growth takes place from 11:30AM to 2:00PM on Friday, May 17. A nourishing lunch is included with each ticket. Individual tickets are $40 and can be purchased here. Pre-registration for the event is required by May 7.
Public sponsors of the event include Rotary Club of Batavia and Mason, Faith & Hoscheith DDS. Floral arrangements and raffle prize are provided by Bloom & Bread.
