The historic Abraham Lincoln School in St. Charles has found a new purpose after serving as an elementary school for 95 years.
Following extensive renovations, the building now hosts District 303’s Transition Program and provides a collaborative space for educators.
Transition program: The program supports students aged 18-22 in developing life and job skills with special rooms and resources to aid in their learning.
Collaborative space: The gymnasium was converted into a flexible area for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and school board meetings, accommodating up to 130 people.
Ideal location: Close to downtown and across from the library, the space offers easy access to job sites and other resources.
Future growth: While the second floor and basement remain vacant, the renovations leave room for potential expansion.
The revamped Lincoln School is already making an impact, with educators and students benefiting from the facility’s thoughtful redesign.
