Batavia residents will soon have the chance to learn more about the city’s newly released draft energy plan — and how to get involved in shaping the community’s energy future.

Bright Future Batavia, a campaign led by Tri-Cities Clean Energy, will host a community meeting to help residents better understand the city’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and offer guidance on how to share feedback before it’s finalized next year.

Key things to know:

  • Community meeting: Wednesday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Founders Room at the Batavia Public Library.

  • Organizer: Tri-Cities Clean Energy, a local clean energy advocacy group.

  • Purpose: Learn about the draft Integrated Resource Plan, discuss concerns, and find out how to submit public comments.

  • Public comments: The City of Batavia is accepting feedback on the IRP through December 30, 2025, with a public hearing on December 9 at City Hall.

“Tri-Cities Clean Energy successfully led the Bright Future St. Charles campaign to urge St. Charles City Council to consider energy sources other than the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA),” organizer Susan Russo said.

Light refreshments will be served. Residents are encouraged to attend and speak up about the city’s energy direction.
