Illinois Craft Brewers launch #MyILBeerFridge Competition to beat Dry January Slump

January is historically the weakest month for craft beer sales. This year, ‘Dry January’ hits on the heels of several notable brewery closures (and a loss of roughly 10% in the past two years).

That’s why the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild is kicking off the New Year by spurring investment in local breweries while rewarding people for stocking their beer fridge with the 2nd annual ‘My Illinois Beer Fridge’ competition.

During the month of January, Illinois residents are encouraged to head to their local brewery, bottle shop, or retailer to stock their beer fridges with Illinois beer or one of the many non-alcoholic options being brewed locally (think Revolution Zero Hop Water, or Noon Whistle Pause Water CBD).

Then, snap a photo and post it to social media, tagging an Illinois craft brewery and including #MyILBeerFridge.

Each week, the owners of the two most dynamic Illinois beer fridges will win a $50 gift card to a local brewery. The competition runs January 1-28.
