Starting September 15, two new monthly support groups will be offered in Batavia to provide guidance and connection for both caregivers and individuals living with dementia.

The groups will meet on the second Monday of each month from 11:30AM to 12:30PM at the Elderday Adult Day Program, located on the west side of Bethany Lutheran Church, 328 W. Wilson St. in Batavia. Attendees should enter through the back brown door, where a ramp is available.

Organizers say the two groups are designed to give space for “two very different conversations,” allowing caregivers and those experiencing dementia to share their perspectives and receive tailored support.

The effort is being led by Anna Bovio, MSW, of Silverado St. Charles; LaVon Lenaway, MA, of Dragonfly Senior Navigation Services LLC; and Michael Cobb, MS, of the Elderday Center, with special sponsorship from Home Instead of St. Charles.

Community members interested in attending can RSVP to LaVon Lenaway at (630) 470-1910 (text or voicemail) or by emailing [email protected].
