Sometimes the best recovery plan is doing nothing at all.

Tis the season for marathons, Ironmans, 5Ks, and ambitious bike rides here the Tri-Cities, and if you're logging miles this summer (or simply not recovering as fast as you used to), your body is probably asking for some help recuperating.

Enter the float tank.

Power Moves Yoga's float tanks use sensory deprivation to let your body do what it does best when nothing else is competing for its attention: heal.

You simply lie in a tank filled with warm, Epsom salt-infused water that allows the body to float effortlessly. The experience eliminates distractions, allows for deep relaxation, and helps relieve stress.

If you’re looking for a new, enjoyable way to manage pain, reduce anxiety, help with muscle recovery, and improve your sleep, the Power Move team is confident this can help.

Not your typical float tank

Both tanks are open and spacious — closer to a private hot tub in its own room than an enclosed capsule.

Existing members who've tried the tanks have reported aches and pains easing up almost immediately and noticeably better sleep the night after a float. One member reached out to Power Moves the next day just to say how well they'd slept.

Ease into it

Power Moves is offering new floaters an introductory session for $39 (regularly $75) — a low-stakes way to see what an hour of true stillness does for a body that's used to being in motion.

Coming up: the Mom Reboot Retreat

Power Moves has another exciting development on the calendar. After its spring 1-Day Retreat sold out almost immediately, the studio scheduled a second: the Mom Reboot 1 Day Retreat on Thursday, August 13 (the day after kids head back to school).

The five-hour retreat runs from 9:30AM to 2:30PM and includes a yoga class, a float session, contrast therapy, and a sound bath, with time built in to relax in the studio lounge between each. It aims to be a full reset for the caregivers who've spent the summer managing everyone else's schedule.

Early bird pricing runs through July 13. Space is limited.

Power Moves Yoga is a premium yoga studio located in a brand-new space at 110 S 17th Street in St. Charles, IL. Power Moves Yoga is a sponsor of Tri-Cities Central.
