Caring for a loved one with dementia can be both meaningful and demanding — and several Tri-Cities organizations are making sure local caregivers don’t face it alone.
Three separate programs in Geneva and Batavia now host free monthly support groups designed to provide guidance, share resources, and create a sense of community for caregivers and those living with dementia.
Here’s what to know:
Arden Courts of Geneva (2388 Bricher Rd., Geneva) offers Alzheimer’s Association–facilitated caregiver meetings on the first Wednesday (1–2PM) and third Wednesday (5–6PM) of each month.
Elderday Center in Batavia (inside Bethany Lutheran Church, 328 W. Wilson St.) hosts two distinct monthly groups — one for caregivers and one for those living with dementia — meeting every second Monday from 11:30AM to 12:30PM, starting November 10.
The Landings Senior Living (2450 W. Fabyan Pkwy, Batavia) offers a caregiver group on the second Wednesday of each month from 6–7PM in the Arts & Crafts Room, led by LaVon Lenaway, owner of Dragonfly Senior Navigation Services in Batavia.
Together, these gatherings offer a compassionate space to share experiences, learn from professionals, and connect with others who understand the journey.
