Fixed-income seniors at Heritage Woods of Batavia, an assisted lifestyle community on East Wilson Street, could use some help stocking up on everyday basics.
A local collection drive running through April 3 is making it easy to pitch in.
Here's what to know:
What's needed: Organizers are collecting household items (paper towels, soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, Ziploc bags) and personal care items (shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash). Cash donations are also accepted.
Where to drop off: Multiple locations across Batavia, including Sturdy Shelter, both Limestone Coffee locations, and Cinco de Mayo Grocery Store. North Aurora residents can drop off at the North Aurora Library and others can use the Kane County Sheriff’s office in St. Charles.
About Heritage Woods: Heritage Woods of Batavia is an affordable assisted living community offering private apartments, 24-hour certified staff, meals, housekeeping, and social programming — designed for seniors who need some support but want to maintain their independence.
The drive is organized by the Batavia Township Democrats. Questions can be directed to Lucy Nelson at [email protected] or Barb Voigts at [email protected].
