With local food pantries bracing for a surge in demand after recent SNAP benefit cuts, churches and community groups across the Tri-Cities are teaming up for a coordinated donation drive on Saturday, November 15.

From 8AM to noon, residents can drop off food and household essentials at five collection sites stretching from Geneva to Carpentersville.

Organizers say the goal is simple: make sure no one in our area goes without a meal as winter approaches. Pantry leaders have warned that more families are struggling with rising food costs, and this weekend’s “Unity in the Community” event is designed to give neighbors an easy way to lend support at a critical moment.

Donation locations (drop off before noon):

  • United Methodist Church of Geneva — Parking lot next to 211 Hamilton, Geneva

  • Congregational Church of Batavia — 21 S. Batavia Ave, Batavia

  • Bethlehem Lutheran Church — 1145 N 5th Avenue, St. Charles

  • Silver Glen Crossing — Public parking lot at Silver Glen & Randall, South Elgin

  • Carpenter Park — Main parking lot, 300 Carpenter Blvd, Carpentersville

Each site has a list of requested food items and household staples to guide donations.
