After nearly a century of serving students in St. Charles, Lincoln Elementary School will close its doors as an elementary school on Thursday, May 30.

The historic building, which opened in 1929, is transitioning to new uses for St. Charles School District 303:

  • First-floor classrooms will be renovated to house the district's Transition Program for students with special needs.

  • The gym will become a Professional Learning Center for administrative meetings and staff collaboration.

  • Several original features and memorials will be preserved during the renovations.

Other 2024-25 facility changes will include:

  • Fox Ridge re-opening as an elementary school

  • Haines Center becoming the home of Early Childhood education

As Lincoln's elementary era draws to a close, the district ensures the historic building will continue serving St. Charles students and staff in new capacities.
