The League of Women Voters of Central Kane County is proud to co-sponsor Immigration and Due Process: Panel Discussion, an informative educational program that will take place at the Gail Borden Library in Elgin on Tuesday, August 26th.
The program will feature legal and policy experts, who will speak on U.S. immigration law, enforcement practices, and their impact on Illinois communities. The panel will include:
Sara Dady, Immigration Attorney and Principal at Dady Law Group
Fred Tsao, Senior Policy Counsel at ICIRR (the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights)
Jamie Mosser, Kane County State’s Attorney
“We are grateful to the library for recognizing the value of this program and to our incredible co-sponsors, our sister LWV of Elgin Area and the AAUW Elgin Area Branch, for their active involvement throughout the planning and preparations,” said Patti Lackman, Co-President of the LWV Central Kane County.

The event will be held on August 26, 2025, from 7:00–8:30PM in the Main Library – Meadows Community Rooms ABC – at 270 N. Grove Avenue in Elgin. Registration is open to members of the public both within and outside of the library district.
Lynn Elam, Chair of the Immigration Committee at League of Women Voters, said, “Our national dialogue on immigration is too often reduced to sound bites on podcasts and cable news. We expect this program to help dispel misconceptions and trigger earnest dialogue.”
