Healing Gardens in St. Charles will mark its 20th anniversary with a special fall opening on Sunday, October 12 — the final public Sunday of the season. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful day among woodland and perennial gardens, plus a few special activities to celebrate the milestone.
Choir in the gardens: From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Threshold Choir of Wheaton will fill the gardens with gentle a cappella songs of comfort and gratitude. Guests can even request a “song bath,” where the choir surrounds them in harmony.
Free plants and seeds: In honor of the anniversary, guests can take home old-fashioned phlox, iris clumps, and seeds from various perennials.
Gentle yoga class: A one-hour outdoor session with certified instructor Renee Hofman begins at 1 p.m. ($20, includes garden admission). Pre-registration is required on the Healing Gardens website.
The gardens are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per family; cancer survivors attend free. Healing Gardens is located at 37W249 Dean Street, St. Charles. For details, visit healinggardensatstonehillfarm.com.
