In a recent meeting, Geneva City Council unanimously approved the pursuit of state grants to fund significant improvements to bike and pedestrian lanes in key areas of the city.
Two major projects are at the forefront of this initiative:
East State Street reconstruction:
Focusing on the stretch between Route 25/Bennett Street and Kirk Road
Construction planned for 2025-2026
South Street and Seventh corridor improvement:
Spanning from Kaneville Road to West State Street
Projected for 2026 or 2027
These projects aim to modernize Geneva's transportation network, promoting safety and accessibility for cyclists and pedestrians. The improvements will include landscaping, lane enhancements, and potential road widening to meet current standards.
