Fox Valley Newcomers and Neighbors isn't your typical social organization. Spanning 23 communities across Kane and DuPage counties, the group has transformed from a newcomers' club into a vibrant community network that welcomes anyone seeking connection.
Building community, one friendship at a time
The club attracts a diverse membership — retirees, working professionals, singles, couples — united by a simple goal: making friends and enjoying life. While activities center in the Tri-Cities (Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles), members also come from surrounding towns such as Huntley, Elburn and Sugar Grove.
Members can choose from an impressive array of interest groups, including book clubs, a men's group with activities ranging from golf to movie afternoons, a "Girls' Night Out" social group, card game gatherings and much more.
The monthly luncheon serves as a centerpiece event, offering members a chance to meet, socialize and participate in interesting programs.
Beyond social connections, the organization demonstrates community commitment through partnerships like their current collaboration with Lazarus House, a local shelter in St. Charles. In 2023, Lazarus House provided shelter for 147 individuals and served 41,000 meals, resulting in impressive positive outcomes for guests.
Membership dues for Fox Valley Newcomers are $30 annually for a primary member and $15 for a secondary household member. Most events are pay-as-you-go, but many social gatherings take place in members’ homes, where participants bring their own beverages and snacks.
The club's social season began in September, making this an excellent time for prospective members to join and experience all it offers.
