Local police officers will spend their Friday morning on May 15 on Dunkin' rooftops to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.

The annual Cop on a Rooftop event, part of the nationwide Law Enforcement Torch Run, takes place from 5AM to noon at participating locations across the Tri-Cities.

Here's what to know:

Batavia — two locations: Officers from the Batavia Police Department will be at both Batavia Dunkin' locations: 108 N. Batavia Ave. and 2002 W. Wilson St., from 6AM to 11AM. Stop by either spot to donate and grab your morning coffee.

Geneva — freebies for donors: Geneva Police officers will be stationed at 206 E. State St. from 5AM to noon. Everyone who donates gets a free doughnut coupon. Donate $10 or more and you'll score a travel mug and a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee (while supplies last). Merch including mugs, shirts, hats, and pins will also be on sale, along with Harley Davidson raffle tickets.

St. Charles — four locations: Several St. Charles Dunkin' locations are also participating on May 15: 1566 E. Main St., 2057 Lincoln Highway, 2701 E. Main St. (Unit 102), and 1711 W. Main St.

Can't make it in person? Geneva residents can still donate online through the Geneva Police Department's Cop on a Rooftop page.

All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Illinois athletes.
