A new one-day arts event is coming to downtown Geneva on May 2, and it will be hard to miss: local shops, restaurants, and businesses will transform into pop-up galleries showcasing painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, music, live demonstrations, and more.

The Geneva Art Explosion will run from 10AM–5PM and is free to the public.

Here's what else to know:

  • Who's behind it: The event is presented by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Geneva Business Partnership and was created by popular request to bring families and friends together for a day of community and creativity.

  • What to expect: Artists of all ages will exhibit throughout participating downtown venues. The Geneva History Museum is among the hosts, with live artist demonstrations planned on-site.

  • How to plan your visit: A map of participating restaurants and businesses, along with descriptions of the art and performers, will soon be available at genevachamber.com/events/art-explosion.

“We are excited to host live artist demonstrations at the History Museum where we embrace Geneva’s past and present every day,” said Terry Emma, Executive Director of the Geneva History Museum.

Mark your calendars for a special display of local creativity this May.
