We Can Lead Change and Indivisible Fox Valley Rising are organizing a donation drive on Saturday, October 11, to support immigrant families in crisis across the Fox Valley. The event runs from 8AM to noon, with four drop-off locations in Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, and South Elgin.
All donations will go directly to families facing hardship, helping them find stability and dignity during uncertain times.
Donation drop-off locations:
United Methodist Church of Geneva — parking lot next to 211 Hamilton, Geneva
Bethlehem Lutheran Church — parking lot, 1145 N 5th Avenue, St. Charles
Congregational Church of Batavia — 21 S Batavia Avenue, Batavia
Silver Glen Crossing — public parking lot at Silver Glen and Randall Roads, South Elgin
Requested pantry items include: Maseca, dry chiles, onions, potatoes, dry beans (pinto, black), lentils, rice, pasta for soups, sugar, salt, cooking oil, bread, oatmeal, corn and flour tortillas, flour for making tortillas, and lard.
Requested toiletries and household essentials include: Laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner (family-sized), deodorant, maxi pads and panty liners, soap, diapers (sizes 4–6), baby wipes, toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, cleaning supplies, disposable razors, hair products, combs and brushes, vapor rub, and feminine hygiene wipes.
Organizers are encouraging community members to drop off donations before noon to ensure timely distribution to families in need. Learn more.
