Campton Hills officials approved a series of voluntary annexation agreements that bring several large properties along Harley Road into the village, extending its boundaries.

The annexations follow a public hearing on January 6 and apply to parcels on the west side of Harley Road between Route 38 and the railroad tracks.

Here’s what to know:

  • Four properties annexed: The village approved annexation agreements for land owned by the Keller Family Trust, Phil Cunningham, SAA Investments LLC, and the Stephen L. Martines Trust, totaling several hundred acres of primarily agricultural land.

  • Harley Road included: Under state law, the annexations extend village boundaries to the far side of Harley Road, giving Campton Hills full ownership and maintenance responsibility for that stretch of roadway.

  • Farming zoning stays: All annexed parcels will retain farming zoning, with no development plans submitted as part of the agreements.

  • Limited future building: The annexation agreements allow for one additional single-family home and accessory building on certain parcels, subject to future approvals.
