More than 35 local nonprofits are heading to the Batavia Public Library on April 28 for a free volunteer fair where residents can browse service opportunities, ask questions, and sign up on the spot.

No registration required — just show up anytime between 2PM and 6PM.

Here's what to know:

  • When and where: Tuesday, April 28, 2–6PM at Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Free admission, no RSVP needed.

  • Who will be there: The lineup includes 35+ organizations covering animal rescue, senior services, hunger relief, literacy, cancer resources, and more. Organizers are aiming to provide resources for nearly every interest.

  • Voter registration: The League of Women Voters of Central Kane County will be on-site registering voters alongside the nonprofit tables.

  • Who can benefit: The event is open to all ages — students needing service hours, retirees looking to give back, working adults with a few hours to spare.

"We believe that by coming together to serve our community, we not only make a tangible impact but also forge lasting bonds that strengthen the fabric of society," said Margaret Perreault, president & CEO of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce. "Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or considering dipping your toes into community service for the first time, we welcome you to join us at the Volunteer Fair and discover the many ways you can make a difference."

A handful of vendor spots for nonprofits are still open; interested organizations can contact Patti Anselme at the Batavia Chamber at (630) 879-7134, ext. 3.
