The Batavia City Council paused its November 3 meeting to honor the memory of Brice Worley, a 2023 Batavia High School graduate remembered for his courage, humor, and love of life during a long battle with brain cancer.

Officials and family Brice’s members were present as the city issued a proclamation celebrating his impact and marking the start of a scholarship foundation created in his name.

Key things to know:

  • Unified recognition: Council members wore green in Brice’s honor as the proclamation recognized his faith, positivity, and deep connection to the Batavia community.

  • An uplifting spirit: Brice, who passed away October 4, was known for his upbeat spirit — from working at Wendy’s and exploring the outdoors.

  • New foundation: The Brice Worley Foundation will award scholarships to students who show the same compassion, courage, and kindness that defined him.
