The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated new business and chamber member Batavia Hardwoods with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, October 1. The event took place at the new retail shop on 330 McKee Street.

Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration along with three of the four owners, Kersten Beer, Steve Lusted and Doug Marsh. John Dillon is the fourth owner.

Batavia Hardwoods is a store for people who love to create with wood and those with a passion for woodworking. The shop stocks a large variety of flat stock including rough sawn, live edge, surfaced and salvaged lumber.

One room is filled with a large selection of local and exotic wood species in various sizes. The shop also features a variety of spindles, bowl blanks, once-turned bowls and miscellaneous sections of logs and branches.

Currently Batavia Hardwoods is open every Saturday from 9AM-3PM and by appointment.
