Ellen Huxtable has been a familiar face at Batavia Chamber of Commerce events for years.

That remarkable dedication to the Chamber’s mission will be the subject of a celebration later this month when she’ll receive the organization’s top honor: the 2026 Donna Dallesasse Award.

Here's what to know:

  • The award: Huxtable is the 20th person to receive the Donna Dallesasse Award, given annually to a member who's gone above and beyond for the local business community. The former owner of Advantage Business Concepts currently leads two of the Chamber's regular discussion forums and has served as a Chamber ambassador in the past.

  • The celebration: Chamber Cheers will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6PM at Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia. Tickets are free, but you'll need to register ahead of time. The event will feature heavy appetizers, drinks, and live music.

  • Also being honored: Several longtime Chamber members are getting recognized for milestone membership anniversaries — including one local business marking 50 years and six others hitting the 30-year mark.

In a news release, the Chamber had nothing but great things to say about Huxtable.

“Ellen embodies the Chamber’s mission with her energy, creativity, and commitment to highlighting our business community,” said Margaret Perreault, president and CEO of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce. “Ellen’s longstanding involvement, dependable leadership, and genuine desire to help others reflect the spirit of the Donna Dallesasse Award.”

Huxtable said she’s honored to receive the award and feels fortunate to be a part of this community.

“Our strength is in connection, and the Chamber is a catalyst for connection,” Huxtable said. “Through the Chamber I have met countless people who have helped me, and I hope I have been a help to others.”
