March is shaping up to be an interesting month for Tri-Cities art enthusiasts — one that involves local creativity, friendly faces, and a little inspiration.
A group of Batavia-area artists who formed the Batavia Art League (BAL) is getting ready to host its very first art exhibition, with their work on display all month at Gallery 200 in West Chicago.
Here’s what to know:
Who they are: BAL is a group of locals who meet every Wednesday morning at the Congregational Church of Batavia to create art, learn from each other, and (in their words) build a little camaraderie along the way.
Where to see the exhibit: The group’s first exhibition will be on display throughout March at Gallery 200 (103 W. Washington St.) in West Chicago.
Opening reception details: The public opening reception is Friday, March 6, from 6-8PM.
What to expect: BAL artists will be there, and refreshments will be served — an easy, low-pressure way to meet some local creatives and see what they’ve been working on.
If you’re interested in getting involved with BAL, contact Carol Huntowski, BAL secretary, at [email protected].
