🍅 Local food and harvest destinations

Back on July 18 I shared a resource featuring a comprehensive list of farmers markets and roadside stands in Kane County.
A discerning reader this week pointed out that the document contained a few errors, then confirmed with the Kane County Farm Bureau that the resource was indeed outdated.
Fortunately, up-to-date and accurate resources do exist. Thought you might like to check them out:
Bounty of Kane: A directory of 37 consumer-facing farms in Kane County plus a comprehensive list of local farmers markets — with a map and contact information for all of them.
Kane County Health Department: This resource features interactive maps to help folks find local farmers markets, pumpkin and harvest locations, nurseries and greenhouses, orchards, CSA programs and more.
On a related note: During a conversation with neighbors this weekend it struck me that people around here tend to have strong opinions on corn — where they get it, who grows the best, etc. (I know my parents are partial to Wiltse’s in Maple Park).
So, my question for you: Where’s the best place near the Tri-Cities to buy quality corn on the cob?
Stay tuned for a recap of responses on Thursday.
