Oktoberfest season is here, and the greater Tri-Cities area offers plenty of ways to raise a stein.

To celebrate, local breweries, bars, and even entire villages are rolling out the beer, bratwursts, music, and competitions for a month packed with festive celebrations.

Here’s the list:

Sturdy Shelter, Batavia | September 12-14 (Friday-Sunday)

A jam-packed three-day schedule includes stein packages, food trucks, live music, a costume competition and a chance to try the new Shelterfest Munich-Style Fest Bier. Plus the obligatory stein-hoisting competition, but with a twist — winners will have a chance to compete for a spot in the State Steinholding Championship. Learn more.

Penrose Brewing, Geneva | Saturday, September 13

Break out the lederhosen for a day of family fun, beer and live music. They’ll also have a stein hoisting competition and other fun contests. It’s a pretty darn popular event, so think about getting there early. Learn more.

Auroraland Oktoberfest | Saturday, September 20

Head over to the Phillips Park Pavilion for a day of fun, food, and festivities. There will be a variety of traditional German cuisine, live music performances, and a refreshing selection of local beer. Plus raffles! Learn more.

Brother Chimp Brewing, North Aurora | September 26-27 (Friday-Saturday)

Brother Chimp Brewing is celebrating its 6th Annual Oktoberfest at its North Aurora taproom with live music, food trucks, festive attire, and plenty of tasty beer. Highlights include the release of their Schimpansenfest festbier, special food pairings, and local musicians doing their thing. Learn more.

Sidecar Supper Club, Batavia | Saturday, September 27

A full day of food, drinks and fun, with live music from HOSS in the evening. More details will be announced soon.

The Filling Station, STC | Saturday, September 27

The Filling Station’s 16th Annual Oktoberfest Celebration will feature giant 32-ounce Hacker Pschorr steins, German food specials like Wiener Schnitzel and potato pancakes, a Stein Hoisting Contest, and more festive surprises. Learn more.

HOPtober Fest, Wheaton | Saturday, September 27

Celebrate the season with the perfect pour — or a whole bunch of them. Whether you’re a craft beer lover, a cider sipper, or just in it for the fun, this should be a fun day at Memorial Park with good drinks, good music, and Oktoberfest shenanigans. Learn more.

Village of North Aurora | Saturday, October 4

North Aurora will host its first-ever Oktoberfest at Riverfront Park, featuring a full day of beer, food, live music, and family-friendly activities from noon to 10PM. The free festival will include local breweries, a large beer tent, bratwursts and pretzels, polka and rock bands, and contests ranging from stein holding to dachshund racing. Learn more.
